The Joys of Toddlerhood
Lillian has done some funny things in the last couple days, so I thought I'd share.
The other day, she was wandering around the house, but she was making noise so I could tell where she was. Then, she got quiet. I tip-toed down stairs, and there she was...with a wet wipe in her hand, heading toward Laddie, who was laying by the door. When he sees her coming, he gets up and heads...under the table where he thinks she can't get him. But she's too smart for him. She walks to the side where she can get him. As she gets there, she tries to wipe him off! He decided he didn't need a bath, so he moves to the other side of the table. And Lillian promptly picks up her wipe and moves to the other side to finish the task. They did this for a little longer until I finally laughed out loud and she realized I was watching.
On Saturday, we'd just finished lunch and she was playing with some lids in the kitchen when she put her thumb in her mouth, which usually means she's tired. So I asked, "Are you about ready for a nap?" And she nodded her head! The usual response to that question is an emphatic "NO." But I thought I'd take her up on it. With the struggle we've had lately in getting her to take a nap, it was a nice change, let me tell you.
The last couple months sure have been interesting. I thought it was exhausting when she was an infant, but that was nothing compared to now. She's constantly on the move, leaving a path of destruction behind her that returns in the blink of an eye after it's picked up! But it's a good time for the most part.
